About

This shot is two years old, but such a favorite! (Carlsbad Flower Fields)

Very soon after the kids were born, my husband I knew we wanted to homeschool our boys. Plain and simple, we just love having those little pickles around all the time!

Then a few years ago, my mom retired from her career as a childcare provider to pursue teaching music and movement. “I think you’d be great at this,” she told me.

Well, it turned out I loved it. It was literally a dream come true. I was able to combine my new passion for teaching children through music with my dreams of acting, singing and dancing for a living. I immediately started my own business, Leaping Lizards Music, and went full steam ahead.

But what about homeschooling?  I loved the idea of it, but I thought there was no way I could homeschool and run a business. As it turns out, it was possible.

I call it home-growing because I believe that every part of our day is an chance to learn and grow. I realize that everything from folding laundry to helping with business is an educational lesson for my kids. I also believe that you don’t have to necessarily have to homeschool your kids to home-grow them.

Today I run my small-but-mighty business and home-grow our two boys. My husband and I also started another business, Earthaby, Inc. and launched our first product, Sprounce. We’re hoping that it will soon afford him the opportunity to be self-employed so he can home-grow with me full-time.
